Varmahlid: The farm of Glaumbaer (continuation)

This one must be correctly tilted. If it is too horizontal, water passes; if it is escarpé too much, the grass crack during the periods of dryness, and has evil to push. Wood is used with parsimony because it is rare in Iceland.

This farm could accommodate twenty people.

The fuels used for cooking and the heating was the peat and the dried droppings of sheep.

The buildings of the farm actually are partially buried.

We are now at the beginning of afternoon and we must return on Varmahlid to take again the bus which must bring us to Borganes.
