Amman:
Capital of the kingdom of Jordan in the middle of the Middle East, it is made of several fertile hills and valleys. Although having a modern infrastructure, Amman is in fact an old, known city initially under the name of Rabbath Ammon at the Age of Iron, then like Philadelphia, one of the Roman cities of the formerly called urban confederation Décapole.
In addition to Amman (Philadelphia), the north of Jordan is the hearth of other cities associated with old Décapole Roman: jérash (Gérasa), Umm Kais (Umm Qays)….
Together, these sites give an idea of the magnificence of the Roman world to its apogee.
